La fiorente comunità ebraica dello Yemen scomparve nel 1949 in pochissimo tempo, quando lo stato ebraico, con la famosa operazione denominata “Sulle ali dell’aquila”, portò a termine con grande successo l’esodo verso Israele di migliaia e migliaia di ebrei provenienti da tutto il mondo arabo. Questo intervento militare faceva parte della più vasta operazione “Tappeto volante”, con la quale migliaia di arabi di religione ebraica andarono a popolare Israele e a popolare il progetto sionista, voluto dai padri fondatori.
