This article offers an overview of Libya’s recent female literary production, focusing especially on the works published by Fawziyyah Šalābī. The authoress has been successful both as a politician, having held various official posts during the past Gaddafi’s regime, and as a writer. In fact, she has been playing an important role on her country’s literary scene.
